Coming Home

My eleven year old son, Colin is coming home from a week on Catalina Island today. Our house has been so quiet without him. Every morning, Mike asks, "what do you think Colin is doing right now?" And I say something like, "eating waffles and bacon." We think about him all the time, and we know he is having fun. I know he is not thinking about us as much as we are thinking about him...he has so many other new things to be thinking about, and so many experiences to be navigating. He is on an adventure! And tonight he is coming home. Mason has missed him, but Mason has had his own milestones. He ate bread for the first time, had a second serving of pasta at a restaurant that Colin has never been to....he'll have his own stories to tell.
